TRESemme Nourishing Rituals Liquid Gold Shine Therapy Review

Today, I’m going to do a review of TRESemme Nourishing Rituals Liquid Gold Shine Therapy.  My best friend Madeleine from Madfashionhouse lent this to me to try and review (thank you!).

I have to say that I was intrigued when handed this, because it has shimmer in it.  I usually stay away from putting anything shimmery in my hair, but I decided I would try this out to see if it really did help with the shine.  I took a close-up so that you can see the micro-crystals inside.

First off, this has a very pleasant and subdued scent that isn’t overpowering, which I like.  Sometimes things are so strong that I can’t even stand to use them, even if they smell nice.  It also worries me when I use really strongly scented products, because I always worry that I smell strongly of it afterwards but am not aware because you generally can’t smell your own scents.  So that was very nice.

It claims to be a light conditioner, which I have to agree with.  I usually use quite heavy conditioners because my hair is curly and tends to be drier.  It was a nice surprise that although this was very light, it conditioned really well.  I actually like this better than my current conditioner, Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine (you can find my review of that here), because when I rinse it out my hair feels clean, and it doesn’t leave a film.  My hair also feels very soft and not heavy at all.

Now, usually I’m extremely skeptical of most products’ claims, such as ‘more volume’, ‘more shine’, ‘healthier’, etc. because too often we use these products and don’t really see a difference.  Most of the time, I feel like my hair doesn’t really show shine because its curly but not perfect ringlets, so its much harder to tell.  However, since this product conditioned my hair quite well, there was quite a bit less frizz and, in turn, was a bit more shiny.  The other great thing is I didn’t actually notice any shimmer left in my hair.  When I looked at a section of my hair closely in the sun, it was glistening with shine but not shimmery, so I feel that it did add dimension which was really cool to notice.  I feel that this product actually does do a decent job of making hair shinier, so I’m sure you’d see more of a difference if you have straighter hair than I do.

Overall, I think this is a good product that does what it claims.  I’m considering picking up my own bottle, because sadly I’ve got to return this one, haha.

You can grab this at most drug stores or on Amazon here.

Do you have any hair products that actually do what they claim?  Recommend me products in the comments!

  1. I have wavy/curly hair and I also find that products that claim to give shine are often hard to tell if they actually work or not. With straight hair it just seems easier to tell – at least I think so. Nice to know you noticed a difference with this product – and a good one too. Too bad you have to return it to your friend, hehe!

I nominated you for a Best Blog Award! You can find all the details in my post of today. :-)
